The Irish Wolfhound Club is run by elected officers, a Chair, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer, together with a committee of up to 10 members. A President and a team of Vice Presidents lend their experience to the work of the Club.

We work with other breed bodies to promote the wellbeing of the breed, offer help and advice where it is needed, and safeguard the future of Irish Wolfhounds.

Our Annual General Meeting is held in the first quarter of each year, keeping members informed of the year past and the year ahead.

Health and education

We support the Heart Testing Scheme run by the Irish Wolfhound Health Group, and work with them across health matters in the breed more widely. We also support judges' education through the Royal Kennel Club's Judges' Education Programme, working with the Breed Education Co-ordinator to run Breed Appreciation Days, often jointly with another breed body. Our fundraising supports a number of Wolfhound good causes. Links to all of these can be found under the relevant headings below.

Events

The Club holds four shows each year: two Championship shows, an Open Show and a Limited Show. The year closes with our 'Wolfhound of the Year' celebration. All are held at The Royal Kennel Club Building, National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, and spectators and companion dogs are warmly welcome.

When we can, we also run a Rally and Fun Day: friendly competitions for hounds and owners, plenty of time to chat, and breed experts on hand to offer advice.
